I don't see anything worth more than a cent ps: if it's md that doesn't make it valuable over face value at all. md is really common, what your really looking for is ddo. or doubled dies.

I was curious about all the letters being flat and wide.

That is due to wear on the coin. I hate that kind of wear.

the reason the letters are flat and wide is probably because they have been banging into other coins from years of use and this has pushed the letters down and flared then out wider.

Rascal, use the technical term: Squarshed.

Just like squished, but with metals :)

Maybe grease? The coin isn't worn much. The flattening affects all the lettering.

The lack of details on the face (all the missing details of the hair, etc) is due to wear...
    I'm just seeing a heavily-circulated coin.

Ding ding ding we have a winner! If it is a zincer it has to be a plating issue, amirite??

Why does the t in liberty an to a lesser extent lots of the other letters have a cup shape with the edges flared up and a line down the middle? I have lots of worn coins but I've never seen one wit the edges of the letters taller than the center..

Most Zinc coins are pretty ugly when they wear. Every once in a while I find one like this with almost a rainbow of color.
