hello again. i havnt been online in a while. The reason im posting is that im visiting my grandparents for christmas and i told them about my recent interest in coins. We then spent about a hour or so going through coins that they have had for quite a while now. Some have been through a few generations. One that caught my eye was a united states indian head penny from 1907. Its a circulated one, and the 1907 year there were around 100 million made for circulation so i dont expect its worth much, but nevertheless im curious as to what it would we worth. Anyone able to give a range for a circulated 1907? Thanks a lot. Joel
A couple of bucks probably, give or take a few cents. look at the LIBERTY in the headband and see how much of it you can read. If you can't make it out at all it's pretty common but if it's clear you've got a nicer one.
it looks like its pretty nice.. its easy to read.. would it still be worth around the same? i never noticed that before. thx
Dubster: Figure a dealer's buy price around $1.00 that is a pretty safe number, look for 1877 or 1909 and then flip it over, and look at the bottom for an S. Those are worth a lot more. Plus other dates.
yup, " S " is the mint mark for San Fransisco but you'll only find them on the 1908 and 1909. Your 1907 is pretty common whether it's in good shape or not so it probably won't be worth much. No more than it would be worth I'd just hang on to it, sorry.
