The Wolfeboro piece has me wondering
now. Did Jim Ruddy ever issue an Ad piece
for the country store he opened after he
    he left Bowers and Ruddy?

Like your rolled cents dwhiz. I like the fact that you can see some of the design elements of the coin itself. Can you make out the dates of the Lincoln Cents...I can't tell from the pictures.

    Coin of the month Club.
    CSA commemorative medal.
    C/A, proof, (I hate proofs),
    German silver, 12.4 grms, 33mm

I have more info on this that I
got from Eric von Klinger when
    he was doing Readers Ask
in CoinWorld. I'll post it as soon
    as I find it. :) CAM00686.jpg CAM00687.jpg CAM00692.jpg

    Coin-of-the-month club.

According to Eric von Klinger, who I'm
paraphrasing, the medal was issued by
Merle Thiele of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Thiele was upset that there were no
    commemorative coins, while stamp
    collectors got lot's of commemorative
stamps. So he decided to issue his own
    and the Coin-of-the-month club would
issue commemoratives on a regulat basis.
    However: "Nothing more about this
venture was found in Coin World's news
    archives."

My note: So, this issue may be the only hurrah
    for the Coin-of-the-month club.

I hope this guy is stiill arround to see
    the commemorative zoo. :)

Alien quarter. This is supposed be
Over-struck on a regular quarter. But
below the neck, upside down are very
    shallow digits/letters that say: "1846
Education Foundation." I have no idea what
that is about. Maybe it's a secret message
    From "Bob" Dobbs-"Gimme slack." ? CAM00693.jpg CAM00700.jpg
