Correct, the negation of a negative position is a positive. By denying Galen's question Derick agreed semantically with Galen's position. By the way nice 1881 cent Galen, for 50 cents nothing wrong. Another small silver coin from Denmark:
The latest addition to my Canadian modern silver dollar collection - the 1986 Vancouver Centennial coin.
Recent Stacks win. 8 Reales from Guatemala. This is my first coin from that particular mint, as I specialize in 1772-1821 Mexico, but it had all the right things going for it. Neat tidbit of information - prior to 1773 the mint-mark for Guatemala was simply "G". In 1773 a violent earthquake destroyed the city of Guatemala, which was rebuilt 40 miles to the northwest and was called Nueva Guatemala. This is why beginning with the next issue of 1777, an NG appears instead of a G as mint-mark. Guatemala is also a scarcer mint than Mexico City. Calbeto lists this year as 'scarce'. Both PCGS and NGC only certified 4 coins each for this year. This one is currently in PCGS AU53 plastic.
I went out today to buy a french 5 franc and ended up getting a 1908 Bavaria 5 mark instead. I also got a 1904 Sweden 25 ore for $3.50 and the 5 mark for $30.00. It's my 4th German empire 5 mark.
I was going through some stuff brought from South Africa some years ago and found some pocket change with this nice strike through error.
Nice coins. You can sell that peruvian coin for at least 10 US here. If one could just buy some real beef for that price
KM 218 Peru 1934 Sol large letters minted in Lima. A common date, but nice UNC specimen. The smaller letter earlier dates were minted in the US. View attachment 281711
Just for the record, KM# 152.6 Chile 1925 Peso curved and flat top 5 varieties. The flat and curved 5 for this type are not well illustrated, but noted in Krause. The curved 5 arrived today. Only 1 specimen of these coins has been graded by the NGC (AU 58), but the variety type was not noted. These might just be the first MS 60+ specimens.
