i was coin roll hunting some small dollars and came across an original U.S mint roll of 2000-P sacageweas, but the coins on the ends are very scratched up and the roll is torn in two places. should i keep this, or break it open?
There is a "Speared Eagle" variety for the 2000-P that can be worth as much as 4 figures in MS66 or better. Aside from that, if you're looking for high grades, you'd need to find an MS69 to make it really worthwhile. I say, "Rippit!" just for the chance of finding the variety, FS-901. Chris
No, wrong variety. This is the one that warrants arrest by federal game wardens for violation of the endangered species act.
I picked one up from the bank today. No Cheerios, no Frosted Flakes, Nothing. Crack, inspect, rewrap, deposit. BTW, I saw a guy trying to sell a roll like this on CL a few weeks ago for $40.00. If you have no shame or conscience you could give it a try.
I don't recall ever reading about someone finding the Cheerios dollar in anything but the cereal boxes. (Circulation, maybe?) Does anyone know if one had ever been found in a mint set, roll or bag? Chris
5500 were struck and only 5000 were used for the cheerios boxes, so im assuming the other 500 are either in mint sets or circulation
