... same place. I know I paid too much ($12), but my daughter likes turtles. I found it in the 2005 Red Book listed as "Executive Experiment". How do I grade this? The prices show VF20 at $20, EF40 at $40, and AU50 at $75. If I had to guess I would say G to F. Can anyone help on the grade and/or value?
Not being a token collector - I've never tried to grade a token before. But I think that one would be F/VF. Jody can help you more I'm sure - especially with the value as I'm at a loss in that regard.
Your HT token is commonly refered to as, the "Illustrious Predecessor". Your particular variety is known as, HT #33. It is classified as an R1, which means that it is one of the most common Hard Times tokens. Judging from your pictures, I would grade your token as an F (Fine). You did not pay too much. I don't know all the details of your purchase, but anywhere from $12-$15 would be a fair price. I could give you lots of history, and background information about what was going on at the time these tokens were in use, but I'll save that for another time. Nice token!
Bump from the way back machine... I just got one of these. Are they still listed in the red book? I tried to find tokens and had no luck other than gold.
I'm not sure if they are in the red book, but I have several token books that list Hard Times Tokens. What would you like to know?
