So I have been getting "International Numismatic Bureau" slabs lately, and im still fairly new to this, but this is a joke right? a worn, brown, dull 1973 cent is not MS-69...whassup-wit-dat?
International Numismatics Bureau was a seller on Ebay(still is, but under a different name now). They would throw common pocket change into holders and sell them in collections of "slabbed" coins.
They always had these elaborate stories about this and that place that they had discovered the coins. It was always in a hidden room that relatives had found when someone died, or a desk drawer of an abandoned bank somewhere, etc., etc.
How does one determine if a double denomination coin is worth anything? I'm having a difficult time figuring out this chat forum so forgive me if I'm intruding...
Hi Nancy. Double denominations definitely command a premium, but there are also a lot of fakes out there. Post photos in a separate thread and we'll be able to help you.
