I usually don't buy "grab-bag" type items. I buy either individual coins, or bulk when I know what I'm getting.

    Randomly selected? Yeah, sure!

If I wanted to collect random coins I would roll search and get them for face value. Otherwise, select individual coins you like. Ebay is a wonderful place to buy as long as you are careful, or check out some local coin shows.

I've never done it before, but probably a few dollars for a lb.

buy individualy. unless you are collecting 1 from every country. if you get it by the bag full you will get many common duplicates.

just watched a normal 42d mercury dime on ebay that was graded by an unacceptable grading service that said it was a 2/1 go for about $400.there were like 18 bidders.
