My mom found this in her garden in the 90’s. I was wondering if anybody could tell me what it says on the coin. Or if anyone had any more information on it?
The calligraphy is not correct and the surface is not correct. Without getting too deep into the weeds, I use the word fake because it is not a period piece minted by the Chinese government. I don’t think these pieces were made to be “counterfeit,” so to speak, but are modern pieces intended to be used as decorative, charm or feng shui pieces.
