After months of only checking the rolls at work, I decided to finally go to the bank and pick up a box of pennies. I went to a Wells Fargo branch on my way home from work. I told the teller that I wanted to get a $25 box of pennies. She seemed confused and asked of the other tellers how many pennies she had in her drawer. The said she had $3. At this point there was another customer laughing because he thought it was such an outrageous request. I then said to her, "don't you have any boxes in the vault?". She said yea but it would be hard, and then told me that she would get the manager. The manager came out and told me that they didn't have that amount of pennies but said that one of their other branches w0uld have enough and that he would be happy to call them and tell them that I would be stopping by to pick it up. So I headed over to the other branch which happened to be only 3 blocks from my house that I never even knew was there. I told the teller that I was there from the other branch to pick up the box and she told me that they were already in the vault getting it. A few minutes later I finally had the box in my hands!
So after a few hours yesterday and today searching all of the rolls I am finally done and got some pretty awesome finds.
When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was a 2009 penny on the end of a roll. Made me excited to see what else i'd find.

Roll 4 I found the first canadian and first wheat!

I found a bunch more wheats and a few canadians and then I got to roll 35: IMG_4815.JPG
I noticed that dark stripe near the end of the roll. I felt it and it bulged out a bit so I knew it wasn't a penny. I got really excited to see what it would be. IMG_4820.JPG IMG_4821.JPG A 1994 Australian Nickel! But then this roll got even better. In this same roll was a 1941 wheat and a 2009 cent!
I thought that would be the best roll of the box but then I got to roll 42:

3 wheats and 2 canadians! 3 wheats in one roll is almost unheard of these days.

So here is the final result:
    18 Wheats: 2 '41, 3 '44, 2 '46, '47, '48, '50, '50D, 2 '51, 2 '52D, '53, 2 '57D
    7 Canadians: '50, '53, '79, '86, '89, '91, 2012
    3 2009's
    3 S mint marks: '70, 2 '74
    3 1959 D's
    1 Australian Nickel
619 copper pennies (not including wheats)

I guess I just had beginners luck with this box. It definitely makes me want to go get another box. But I am not done with this box yet. Now I am going to go through the copper pennies to see if there are any errors.

For the most part, the S mint mark are really really common, so I wouldn't keep them, and same as the 2009's but everything else I would keep. Then I say you have a nice box.

If he is going to take the time to fish them out, he might as well flip them over and check for one of the more valuable varieties, especially when considering the rest of what he is saving.

I don't know about other parts of the country, but here in NY I almost never find 2009 pennies. This whole year I have only found 7 of them before finding these 3.

I get so many Canadian cents that I don't keep them unless they are '64 or before.

This is true, but as mentioned earlier, certain varieties can be somewhat valuable, at least when compared to the other coins the OP and others seem to be saving. I believe it wise for one is going to take the time to dig through cents to at least educate themselves as to what to look for. Picking out generic Wheat cents, Canadian, and/or copper is fine and dandy if they enjoy doing so, but such people may be overlooking the would-be best finds. As for the 2009's, there are a few LP2 varieties that are very easy to identify, and even if circulated conditions can be better finds than what he is saving now, so it does not hurt to look.
