Hey guys, This is a very interesting note. It appears that this $2 note is missing the 1st and 3rd print, which I have never seen before. Have any of you heard of this error or think that it is possible for this type of error to occur? The smells completely normal and feels just like any other $2 red seal. There are plenty of threads all over the surface of the note as shown in the photos. And there is no evidence of red ink at all. Let me know what you think. Thanks
This series had the signatures overprinted along with the seal and serials. Since the signatures are present, it's not a missing overprint. It's *possible* for just the red portions of the overprint to be missing (maybe the press ran out of red ink), but it's also not hard to remove the red ink from these notes. Given that everything is missing except the black ink, and that the black ink is the least easy to remove, I'd be inclined to suspect chemical alteration here. Seems a much simpler explanation than a dramatic double error.
To me, I would say some sort of bleach treatment to the note. I've seen lots of people do this on Ebay or at flea markets and sell them for $20 a piece basically saying "I don't know what happened here but for $20 you can find out" and things of that sort trying to make a quick buck on unsuspecting buyers.
