Ok, here is my complete set (at least complete minus the '61 DDR, that is virtually impossible to find a nice coin at a sane price). The purpose of this set was to get a mix of bright gemmy proofs, cameo coins, and toners that had maximum eye appeal, for a reasonable amount of money. All fall between PF 64 and 67, so it is a mid/high set. Been a lot of fun doing this, and here are the coins-- Note, for some reason, it uploaded the 1952 out of sequence, but it is there.

I was wondering where that 1952 had wandered off to...

Good job hunting all those down and in slabs. I sold my proof set and circulation set several years ago but mine were all raw. I had a very hard time finding a PF1950 coin that was in my quality range . My dealer finally helped by buying a 1950 poof set and sold the Franklin separately to me. Once the hunt was over, I held them for a few years but eventually sold them. What are your thoughts about them now?

great looking set. how long did it take to get/collect this many franklin halves ? I liked the 1951 color toning best. I saw a couple of super cameo franklins on Ebay I fell in love with until I saw the $300 price on them ouch! but man they were gorgeous. lol

I am very glad that I did it, and have no intentions selling the set. Obviously, it cannot join a registry set, as it has the ANACS coin in it so it is ineligible for NGCs registry. I will keep it as a personal 'Morgandude's registry" set, and enjoy it. After all, I did it for eye appeal and fun,.

YEAH, the 1950 and 1950 are very expensive. I found two that I loved that were reasonably priced for being in nice condition, and attractive. The most expensive coin there was the 1950, with the 51 and 56 type 1 not far behind.

I did the same thing M'dude... still tweeking it, but it is a fun ride and can be done at a reasonable price if you shop wisely and take your time. franky.jpg

I've begun to hand pick a Franklin Proof set. So far I have the 1959-63 Proofs and just acquired the 1955. I'll try to get up some pics soon. Still waitin' for the 55' in the mail.
