I read somewhere, that some fakes are better than the real thing and cost more as well. As for me, I don't have the skill to identify a fake, therefore, I only buy from "reputable" sources. Whatever that is>

I got told that scenario once, I called out a beautiful 79 CC/CC at a pawn shop, or was that 78? Anyways it was silver thicker and slightly smaller in diameter. The reeds on this contemporary were sharp. The dealer said, let me check that out and put it in his office. A couple of months past and I went back in there.
He said some guy on the internet bought it knowing it was a fake, and paid more money for it than he was trying to pawn it off on me.
    I kinda laughed.

I would love it if some of the contemporary collectors would post more of their finds.
Sadly, these types of coins are often hidden in and among estate sales.

It's true that some contemporary counterfeits are worth more than their real counterpart in a similar condition, but not because they're "better than the real thing."
