    Hi,

I've had many coins with the edge struck oddly, mainly the whole die struck to one side, typical old die hit but this penny is completely centered front and back, the rim seems to have been hit again instead of off center. I came here knowing someone would be able to tell me about it.

    Thanks!

I think that is normal, I have found tons of dimes and cents that have the same thing.

This coin has a misalgined die error. Very common.

With that degree of offset, yes. However, those coins with larger degrees of offset can bring some premiums. I've seen them with as much as 5% offset.

Thanks for the replies. I'll throw it in my pile and hold onto it like the rest. I keep all offsets and just collect anything that's out of the norm with coins aside from wheats, etc..

    thanks again
