Well I had an As attack, when I saw these. I can feel myself slipping back into the Roman Empire... I really do love these two Emperors who commanded the Empire at the height of its power. Trajan acquired much of the Empire's territory but it was Hadrian who was tasked to maintain it. Emperor Trajan AE As Struck 100 AD. Rome Mint. Emperor Hadrian AE As Struck 128 AD. Rome Mint.
Nice pickups Anoob! Here is my best Trajan and Hadrian: Obv: IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS V P P Rev: SPQR OPTIMO PRINC, Pax standing in temple (slightly tooled but its still one of my favorites of my Roman coins) Obv: HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS PP Rev: COS III, Salus feeding snake
I see we have the same Hadrian...I must admit though I like your Trajan. Do you think it needs some of that Verdicare?
Trajan and Hadrian - two of the best. Here is an As of Trajan on horse, symbolically spearing his most assiduous enemy - a Dacian, presumably their king Decebalus. The Dacian wars (modern day Romania) kept him busy for much of his reign. Also an denarius of Trajan which I found.
The Dacian Reverse is awesome wow!!!! ... Its a shame that the Romans abandoned the province in the 4th century and much of it was destroyed by the invading tribes from the East and North.... Thanks for the addition....I was beginning to think only VK and I liked these guys...
Great coins guys, Anoob that's some nice look'in AE's, i have trajan AE and a couple of AR denarius.. Trajan 98-117 A.D. AE-AS..28mm Trajan 98-117...A.D....AR..Denarius Hadrian 125 A.D...AR..Denarius
I recognize that seller and those coins! Not going to lie I had been eyeing the Trajan for awhile. Kept thinking to myself 'I can justify this somehow'. Talked myself out of it. I always enjoy when I can actually add to these threads. Here is my Trajan. Unfortunately the reverse is slightly off center but it was at the perfect price: cheap!
nice ones everyone....i shot at a hadrain last week but came up short. did get a nice little consolation prize i'll post soon. here is my only trajan.
