Got these in the mail today.

1st up is a 1836 William IV 4 pence, sometimes referred to as a "groat". Mostly used for circulation in British Guiana. Mintage for this piece is 4,235,000.

Coin looked rather "crusty" from the scans.

Came out looking pretty good. Sorry for the crappy photo, these coins are smaller than a dime.

Next is a three pence from 1919. I got two other non-silver ones with it. Paid $5 shipped for the lot. This one is from George V. Mintage is 16,486,000.

    Nice coins.

A little insight...this coin (4 pence) is roughly the same size as a half dime from the US.

A 1836 half dime in the same condition as my 4 pence, is worth about $65. Yet my coin is only worth about $15.

The threenubs could be purchased in large bulk lots a few years ago for ASW - I have several hundred of the little darlings buried somewhere.

1836 4 pence coin you possess: 4,253,000 mintage
    1836 5C (US Half Dime): 1,900,000 mintage

Couple that with your being in the US, and the difference in pricing is obvious.

Also, your coin looks cleaned, so I think your $15 price is quite high. You could probably get a problem-free, similarly worn example for $8, give or take.

Intended for use in Ceylon and Brit West Indies, but a UK coin, nevertheless.
    1-1/2 Pence: 760,000 Mintage

The coin that was supposed to replace the manilla bracelets that had circulated as currency in the BWA during the early 20th century.
