Finally got a 1945 P Netherlands 25 cent piece. Really a difficult piece to find as most were melted at the mint.

Any thoughts on grade are appreciated. Thanks for looking.

very nice - my world coin book says that's a pretty expensive coin as you mentioned that most were melted.

is it 64% silver and 36% copper ???

for those who don't know - The Philadelphia mint mark is under the "5"

Yes 64% silver, .074 ozt ASW. And yes, also quite expensive (for me at least). Most of the series can be had for just over melt, even in high grades. It there are several truly rare and hard to find issues.

The equivalent of the UK 1945 three pence. I think there's only a couple that survived the melt.

Throughout the war they were made at all three mints, though in 1945 it was P only.

If I was adding it to my inventory I would call it an XF.
