There have been huge numbers of threads posted lately that ask for opinions on "errors" that take a high power microscope to see. My question is why? Is there really a market for these coins, or is it just the thrill of the hunt? I hope that nobody takes offense to this, it is certainly no intended that way, I was just curious.
Thrill of the hunt mostly, but if I can make a $2 profit on a 1c coin, does it really hurt? If I sell 10 minor errors (and I do have people that buy them), that's an extra $20 in my pocket if not more.
Well that makes sense Simon, but that begs the question. If it is for the thrill of the hunt, then why do people buy them?
I've found that most of the minor errors are posted by those who are just getting into the error/variety aspects of the hobby and want to learn as much as they can. Chris
I do some searching in my free time, it's not a 24/7 type of thing. I find it doesn't take much effort to search, and since I do it mostly for fun, I don't consider time spent searching as a setback.
