1973 doubling

    Sorry Tom, but it's classic MD. Other than the typical diagnostics, another good clue is the mint mark on pre-1990 cents. These were punched into the dies after they had been hubbed, so they will not be effected by a doubled die. If you're seeing the same "doubling" on the mint mark, you know that it's not a doubled die.

    Why does the 7 have a larger ghost in all directions while the 3 is going north? the

    MD can be multi-directional.
