I have every penny made between 1909 vdb-2013 s in fair-uncirculated(?) condition, except for the brass 1943, what is it worth? I collected when I was younger but I have been away from it for a long time, I am a little lost. I also have 50, yes 50, complete penny books covering 1940(?)-1975(?). If that does not sound right I could be off by a year or two, the point is the books are all full. I am trying to keep my home from foreclosure and a good friend offered me the use of his collections to remedy the problem. I also have every Kennedy half-dollar in a book format. I also have 20 Indian heads from 1870- 1908. My benefactor has collected for over 50 years and insists that his collection is worth a pretty penny!!! Any ideas???

From the sound of it, your collection may yield a large return financially. Though I do not feel I am qualified enough to give you a reasonable value number wise, some pictures of your collection could help in such a estimate.Hopefully another forum member will come around to help.

These are the coins that are going to bring the biggest dollar. Without pictures, it's a guessing game.

I would say your best bet post pictures on the forum and then go from their !! As people give you estimates take that and use them to sell !! I would say also once you decid what you want you can even sell on the forum !! Im sure people hear would buy at the right price knowing you are in a fincal situation!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles Dan. I hope it all works out for you.

Like the others have stated, a few good images will be very helpful in determining the value of your collection.

Just a friendly reminder that offers to buy/sell/trade are only allowed in the advertising section and there are limitations. Goes for both sides of a deal.

Sorry to hear about your situation Dan.

I am assuming the cent albums you mentioned having 50 of, are the blue Whitman-folds. They are generally 1941-1974, depending on when the album was made.
I will also assume the coins in these albums are in average circulated condition. These sell between $10-$20. In a large bulk sale, they would be more like $5-$7.

As mentioned, the early years you have, 1909-1940 or so are where the bulk of the value lies.
No one can give any sort of estimate without seeing quality images of these. Condition is everything. The range in value can be massive depending on their condition.

Also consider the bulk lot discount any buyer would be wanting when purchasing such a large lot.

BigTee's list here is a great place to start:
