I've been trying to ID some not so great Roman coins I bought bulk a few years ago. I have found four so far. I have this Fel Temp Reparatio coin and I have seen that several people on this board have extensive knowledge in this area, so I am hopeful someone will share their knowledge in this area. It's funny that with Ancient Greek coins you really have to search to find info on a lot of coins, but on Romans there is so much info available that you have to sort through it can be daunting. I've got a stiff neck and eyestrain from looking at so many images. But hey, it keeps me out of the pool halls. I appreciate any help. Jony
Constantius II Sirmium mint RIC 71, 73, 75 or 77 are most likely but you need to see both ends of the mintmark clearly to see if there are dots or stars there to tell which. RIC gives 17-19mm and 2.25g but that strikes me as large and yours looks chipped so I suspect it is smaller/lighter. Before the SIRM is either and A or a B (looks like A in the photo) indicating the first workshop. This is a really common coin. The issue was shared with Caesar Julian II so you can find the same coins for him which explains the missing even numbers in the RIC list above. I'll show a Julian RIC 78 BSIRM* for comparison. In this case you need a pretty clear mintmark to get the ID since the dots and stars get lost on small flan coins.
