Hi folks. I'm wondering what a good ballpark figure most of you would consider paying for a complete circulated set of Peace Dollars. This set includes low grade 21 and 28. (I am bidding on one in a local auction)

It would be good to hear from both collectors and dealers on this.

    Thanks for your consideration.

I'd be comfortable paying 800. Maybe 900 if the other coins make it worth it. I would not go too much higher if they're all circulated and lower grades. AU/BU sets can go for 1500-2500. Definitely get a few more opinions.

When you say a "complete set", does that mean every year only or every year to include each mint mark? Does the set include 10 or 24 coins?

here's the money shot. It's already up to $600... I'll wait until end day to poke the bear a little more, but there isn't much extra anymore. Gotta spend the competitions' money. :p I figure the 28 at UP TO $300, the 21 at $100, the rest is $320 or so melt, with the BP and tax I'm starting to focus in on other items. One is an original land document signed by Pres. Franklin Pierce, and there's lots more in the way of Numismatics.

I can't comment on the pricing, but the 28 appears to be damaged. Looks like a nasty rim hit at the top. Don't know how much that factors in to the scheme of things.

Thanks G. Yes I noticed that too. I'm out now for this set. I bid it up to $600 (+ a 15% BP; at 600 that's $90 --- state sales tax on $690 is $46.58) for a total of $736.58. Not enough left on the bone for me to justify the expense, as I'd keep the keys and sell the rest. At least this other guy should have empty pockets now. :)
