but much less is given for them value wise !! i dont trade or sell at the coin shop only buy ! it is best that way and only when i get a good deal !!
If you're happy with your purchase, then do you did fine. Some of us are far more value-oriented than others. Like bcozak said, when you really want something, many times you have to pay for it.
Nice coins. If you are happy then just enjoy them. I see nothing wrong with the trade or the prices. I personally think in the long run this will help with the dealer. My local dealer almost always deducts 5% to 10% for me. And like you if the coin is 3.50 he might just let me have it for 3.00. Everybody seems to be hung up on price - just enjoy the coins.
You're right... if he likes the coins, this is all that really matters. As for prices, I was only trying to help and hope I did not come off as overly critical. OP, Don't stress over what some kid says about your new coins. You've no reason to defend your purchases to anyone. We are not talking great sums of money here, so if the enjoyment you get from them is worth the price of admission (something only YOU can decide), it was money well spent. Congrats.
Honestly - I don't think everybody was overly critical. I just wanted to redirect to a discussion around the coins. I think in hand they would all be nicer than what look like scans in the original post. It is a nice bunch of coins for an album of some sort.
I like this. Just curious, why did you have to stay after it closed? Seems like it defeated the owner's purpose of closing. I get it too: a young guy (right?) comes in, needs some extra attention and thirty five minutes invested in a customer only builds stronger relations. Also...with me...I use my money like a vote and will gladly pay a little more to support local busisnesses, especially a LCS that will stay open thirty five minutes later to help me get some coins I'm after.
WOW - I missed that part. I am not sure my local shop would stay open for me. I really hate it that they started closing on Saturday. Another plus for the local shop.
Hes not open on sundays or mondays he lives more then a half hour away from his shop. Hes always giving me discounts and some stuff for free. Iv also noticed some of his low grade stuff actualy grades higher. So im fine with paying more sometimes . His shop is small he only had three of the bi halfs and 1 of bi quarters. The bi half was actualy priced at $11. But i found mine in one of tje binders i asked him why this bi half was only $5 and he side it must javr neem missed priced and i should take that one
Hes a member of my coin club. And he always staus open longer for me when i jad a job i was in there 2 or 3 days aweek most of the time we just talk about coins and relize he should be closed Je even lets me pick the junk silver i want or go threw coins he hasemt even checked yet.
Sounds like my kind of dealer. Sometimes I just want to chat with the local coin shop, but since they are open only m-f then they are busier than ever. Mainly around PM's.
he mostly stocks silver and gold coins/jewely all other coins are what people bring in to him most of the time. I live in a small tourist town most money is made in the summer because its the main beach on lake michigan
I wish i had a bigger one with more stuff but then again the prices would be higher but then id miss my little one. also another cool thing is he and the president bring most of the door prices for the club and they always bring enough for every one one time i got a 1964 proof set for free. the president also owns one of the biggest shops in the area but its 45 minutes away and i cant walk or ride a bike there so i havent been there yet
I thought about it, but I don't feel like I know enough about coins to start one. Also, I'm scared that advertisements for starting a club would attract thieves who would pretend to be interested. I may join up with the am vets soon and see if I can't get something started there.
contact the nearest club to you and see if you can get some help starting one in your area club members are usualy realy nice the president of mine sometimes gives me a ride home in his 2013 mustang
