Here is a semi-key date to the Capped Bust Half Series. What do you guys think I should mark on the flip VF-20 or VF-30? I'm leaning towards 30.

    Thanks for looking
    Ben

    Bone,
Overall, I would say vf-25 or vf-30. I wouldn't question either grade. It simply depends on how much someone wants to net for the cleaning/scratch.

    IMO, VF-30 is reasonable.

I'll put it this way, it fit into my $100 or less criteria for CBHs when I purchased it :) BTW, I have only the 1815 to go for a complete dated set and with the addition of one coin last week now have 77 different die varieties. I'm getting closer and closer to the Bust Half Nut Club...

Ben: For your info, I believe that it is an O-105 (Obv. 4, Rev D) R-1.
    Nice piece.

Yes, your right. I also have a O-108 in about the same shape. One of the first I ever purchased. :)

Nice pickup for under 100! :) Unfortunately it is going to be pretty hard to pick up an 1815 for under 100. The cheapest I have seen was a holed, cleaned example for 200 dollars. : (

Oh, tell me about it the 1815 is going to probably take years of saving. I pretty much gutted my old BaseBall Card Collection inorder to buy this series and a few others over the past year or so and have only mid 80s cards and up now.

I should have sold them earlier like in the 90s instead... alas :(

It's a shame that baseball cards dropped in price so much. I pulled mine out recently, looked up the prices, and was very confused as cards worth 30 or so dollars in the 90's, were not worth only a couple dollars :(.

1992 Fleer ULTRA (Award Winners) WORTH VIRTUALLY NOTHING The Cal Ripken, Jr., 'reverse' oriole is worth like a $buck now... Unbelieveable :( All the rest too are in the $dollar range...

It's got some interesting wear, I'll go with VF-20, but I think it could go to VF-25.

I don't think that it would make 30 because of the reverse wear and the lightly struck obverse.
