Despite being announced on nearly all the major forums and being well known to eBay watchdog groups, this scam is still going strong.

Most recent eBay item numbers are 181180654977 290949970310 290951394867 and 281142168888

What is it that makes this a scam? I'm not picking up on it.

Someone keeps posting these sets every couple days, at a price that is all too tempting, but buyer never receives anything. Several people have already been ripped off this way. Seems someone is hijacking eBay accounts that have not recently been active and using them for this.

Out of curiosity, what's a "fair" price for a 1995 set? I've seen them go for $5500-$7500.

That $5500 one should be added to list of scam listings too, item # 121151289394

Have not seen a single legitimate sale that was under $6,500 in as far back as eBay completed items go, which is a few months. Typically between $6,800 and $7,300, sometimes more.

I was just wondering. I had one listed at $6200, and it didn't sell. :D

Are you sure all of those are scams? Several different images and sellers.

The one thing in common is that all of these accounts have had no recent sales history and no other items for sale. They are not really different sellers, just hijacked accounts. I would confidently bet on it.

I don't believe they are all scams. Where did you get your information?

I see the aspects of what known past examples look like and find ones that have the same aspects. This is a well known ongoing scam. Perp must have cleared $100k by now.

If you don't mind me asking an ignorant question, what is CU?

And it goes on and on, two most recent item #'s 171092694206 and 221261420998

That the thieves behind this have not been caught yet is ridiculous.
