Would it be worth it to send to a grading company mike?

 

I don't think it would be wise to send it in for grading. First of all, they'll probably screw up the description, which is par for the course for any error that is subtle, novel, rare, compound, or complex. Of course, they screw of the descriptions of common errors as well. It's probably worth around $100, in my estimation, which puts in borderline territory as far as the cost-effectiveness of slabbing goes.

Mike you forgot to mention the dropped letter P on the reverse side. this IMO is worth more than the offset doublestrike. dropped letter coins are hard to find , imagine finding one on a coin that is already a error coin.
EDIT; maybe I jumped the gun on saying this is a dropped letter P from just looking at the photo but it sure looks like it is from what I can see. I have only found two or three dropped letter coins from a lifetime of searching plus i have two i bought off ebay.

I didn't read far enough into the description to encounter the dropped letter reference. While this could be a dropped letter, it looks oddly undersized, presuming it's a dropped letter from the P of PLURIBUS. Then again, if the die fill only occupied the deepest part of the recess in the die face, you could get an undersized letter. If this is a dropped letter, it raises the coin's interest level (and value) even further.

a couple close ups of the P would be nice if it is not too much trouble for you , I would like to see what it looks like. a dropped letter can't be confirmed by just a photo , it would have to be examined in hand by someone that is a error coin expert .

It's a dropped letter. It's even got a serif. Awesome combination.

A serif refers to the expanded corners of a letter. Some fonts have serifs and others do not (sans-serif). E PLURUBUS UNUM has serifs on the nickel and on these capital letters that I've typed. On the Lincoln cent, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST has no serifs. Neither do the capital letters that I've typed here.

That's really cool. I could see it possibly going for $150+ on ebay, but I am not an expert at pricing errors like this. Once again, excellent find!
