Monday , 07/29, will be launched the new banknotes of 2 and 5 reais. The announcement was made by the Central Bank of Brazil on 07/26.
The new notes of R$ 2 and R$ 5 will have a protective layer against dirt to prevent rapid wear of the notes, which are the most handled. The notes of the first family will be gradually replaced in accordance with the natural wear. The substitution of banknotes is thus already launched: 71.3% of $ 100 have been exchanged, 63.8% of $ 50 have been exchanged, 31.3% from R$ 20 have been replaced and 36.9% from R $ 10 have been replaced.
