Any ideas what this would be worth, grade, etc private party selling to a coin shop? I see minimal damage or wear just some scratches. I cannot see any wear on the edge, the indian head or the eagle. I hope my pics show enough detail. I have found values all over the place from spot price to 10,000 for a mint uncirculated coin.
    Thanks!

I would grade it AU-55, worth about $900-930. It would have to be at least MS-65 to start hitting the really big money, but it is a beautiful coin none the less.

I wouldn't be surprised if the coin is uncirculated. Judging by these pics, I would grade it around MS62 or MS63. The eagle's shoulder is usually pretty weakly stuck on these.

I would say there is an awful lot of contact marks in the prime focal areas on this one. I just bought a really clean 1911 AU58 for $850. If it were slabbed it might come back a 61 or a 62, but until its slabbed a 62 or higher, I wouldn't get my hopes up for more than $800.

Just my opinion. I am not an expert in US gold, just have been buying some lately so havebeen doing some reading up on them.
