    Yup, after humming and hawing for at least a year, I finally decided to buy a Fallen Horseman coin ... I must admit that I took the advice of a buddy in the end, but after I analyzed it I knew that this was gonna be comin' home to Papa ...

    I admit that I went back and looked at Doug's page on fallen horseman coins and I'm not really sure if he's gonna think this is a dog, or if it's a winner, but in the end I am the dude layin' down the cash so I'm the dude that's gotta love the coin, right?

    => and I'm lovin' this coin ...

    I hope that it passes the muster!!

    Usually I hate these coins because of the obverse, but this one is cool;).

    Yours looks like an FH4, if I read dougs page right. Not my specialty by any means. I wiz by them on ebay like I wiz by healthy food at the grocery.

    Its a beautiful coin and some silvering is always a plus.

    Nicer than mine for sure but I notice that even mine has retained silver so that issue must have been coated better than most. Your horseman is oddly small and looks up more than most FH4 victims. It is a very nice coin.

    Thanks Ripley ...

    Wow, 10/15 ..... yah, I'm probably gonna stop at just one (but you never know)

    => I have such a broad collection-scope that it seems unlikely that I'll revisit this type (ummm, but ya never know ... who would have thought that I'd already have 20 coins from Sicily/Syracuse?)

    ... yah, that is the beauty of this ancient coin ride => man, I never know where I 'm gonna be next!! (no, seriously!!)

    ... and lovin' it!! ...

    Thanks Doug .... yah, I know that it's probably a bit creepy, but I do actually seem to give a poop what you think ... as well as Batman, Bing, Martin and the rest of our misfit, yet stellar coin-gang!! (thanks for your coin-inputs, comrades!!)

    speaking of Bing, here he is. Nice FH type. I have a few, but none are in as good of condition as this one. You sly dog, now you're going to try to outdo me on the Roman Imperial bronzes. Good pick up little buddy. Good pickup.

    Those desiring to become addicted to FH can start by trying to get one of each of the four poses (kneeling, sitting, reaching, clutching) or one from each mint as mentioned by Ripley. You might want a nice small one to contrast with your AE2 but 'nice' is easier to find in the big size. A full legend, well struck AE3/4 with M in the reverse field is worth seeking. After that it degenerates into the minor variations and 2200 coins later, your set is complete.

    Ummm, maybe I'll just stick with this one example for a while?

    Campgate => check-mark

    Fallen Horseman => check-mark

    ... huh, what other coins fall into this category?
