I'm not sure what you exactly mean but that is not a scan, its a Digital Photo with a lot more detail than a scanner will put out.

Well....not really....at least I don't think under $40 is "exspensive"----you can get some nice ones in really nice grades for pretty cheap.

He is talking about the grade---if you don't already have it you need to buy the:

    1921 high relief

I am wondering if I paid too much. At a local coin auction I bid $135 for a 1921 slabbed and graded XF-45
by PCGS. $135 won the coin but the 10% buyers fee brought the total to $148.50. One dealer told me that's not too much and this coin will go up in value in the next few years.

thats worth $50 in ms 64 i wouldn't grade it any higher because of the surface marks on the neck and right of the coin.

you paid the almost exact amount thats worth now in XF - 45, and yes that coin has always been rising i and im so mad at my dealers why wont they lower it to 90 in XF or something, thats the only way ill buy it, but our standards are different and if your going to invest it you shouldn't sell it back tor the dealer.

Thank you very much for your opinion. No I will not sell it. Even though I do sell coins this one is a keeper.
Especially I keep all my PCGS graded coins.

I paid $125 for one that would grade AU50 and its gone up since then---they seem to be a coin that just keeps on the move so you seem to have done ok!

Thanks Speedy. If you bought a raw coin, I don't feel so bad paying a bit more for a slabbed and PCGS graded XF-45.

I hope we are talking about a 1921 Peace Dollar.

    1926 Peace Dollar

Recently I read that the word GOD was accented on the 1926. I have one my uncle sent me around 1970 when he was a FBI agent in Reno. It came out of one of the Nevada casinos.
The word GOD is highlighted but the 3 letters do not line up.
    So I have 2 questions:
Is 1926 the only year with the stronger word GOD?
Is there a variety with the letters out of alignment?

From the obverse alone I would grade it a 66. Maybe with a star.

The obverse caught me with such surprize and I did not even look at the reverse before commenting. It looks even better.

The 1921 Peace is my favorite date, the high relief is really beautiful.
After that one, all the rest look like nothing.
