If you have a question of numismatic like I do, please feel free to ask. Asking won't hurt no one. But ask the right question. Do not ask question that are confusing or be improper to any one. My question is. I have a coin in silver from 2005 and is graded by NGA PR70; how could I sell this type of coin? ebay has a policy that don't permit the selling of this type. the company that graded this type of coin is NGA. the coin is a 2005 S NGA pr 70 dcam kenndy half dollar. (Removed the e-mail address; see our rules and guidelines. - C.)
I believe you can sell it on EBAY. you just can't list the grade or grading company. it would be like selling a raw coin.
So is Ebay not permitting sales of coins 'graded' by NGA? If that's the case, crack it out and sell it in a 2 by 2 cardboard flip. Anyways, the coin will never grade pf70. NGA is a 'basement slabber.'
You're over thinking this one. It is likely nothing more than a generic PR in a junk holder. You can sell on eBay but cannot advertise the claimed grade or service.
i agree with what was said that is why in the end the extra money for PCGS or NGC to do a coin is well worth it, i am not saying to with this coin but i wouldnt but next time you get a coin slabbed or buy one try to get one by PCGS or NGC if you can !!
Actually, you can sell this coin as is in the current slab. You cannot, however, list it's grade in the listing title or description. It's really all politics. Anyone who really wants this coin, will want good pictures rather than a numerical grade attached to it.
Easiest bet is take it to a dealer. I've been told you can't sell slabbed coins on Ebay if they are not PCGS, NGC or ANACS.
