Does anyone know where I can find/buy 2x2 holders (staple kind) that have slightly bigger display openings.

Many foreign coins are just a few millimeters larger than US coins and I hate having a coin, say a large British penny, drop and roll around in a US dollar size holder just because it's a mm or 2 bigger than the US half dollar. I have purchased slightly larger 2x2's in the past, but most coin shop owners around here can't/don't want to find the larger size 2x2's.

Normal US $.50 2x2 holder is 30.7mm approx
Larger US $.50 2x2 holder is 32.5 mm

Normal US $.05 2x2 holder is 21.5mm approx
    Larger $.05 2x2 holder is 22.5mm

I've seen the self adhesive holders in the larger dimensions, but those are not what I'm looking for.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Why would it drop and roll if you staple them? I have had a 2000s nickel in a Half dollar size 2x2, it was sitting there tightly even when I jerked it around a bit. Stapled with 4 staples, all very close to the mylar window. A few mm difference should really not be an issue, as far as I`ve experienced.

When I was looking for an extra large 2x2 for a 40mm coin (Morgan/Ike 2x2 was too small), found the right size 2x2 in a Chinese seller shop on eBay, they`ve had all kinds of weird sizes.

Very thin coins regardless of size tend to move around. It's just a pet peeve of mine. Do you remember the eBay store you mentioned above? If you could pass me a link that would be great.

Joe most dealers should have them for sale. If you don't find any locally let me know what you need and I can get you some. Sadly it will cost more to ship them than they are worth. You should be able to get them for about 5 cents a piece.

Most dealers have no idea or interest when I ask, therýe just worried about the price of silver and gold.

PM me and maybe we can come to some understanding. It would be nice to have some 2x2's with larger display openings again.

Just use plastic ones. I personally use BCW brand ones because they are pvc free.

You might have to try talking to some of our European members Here in the US all of them are pretty much of standard size for our current coins. But if they use 2X2's in Europe you might have more luck getting a variety of odd sizes because most countries tried to have different sized coins than their neighbors.

I wish somebody knew. I can't seem to find anyone who knows where I can find them.
Thx Conder101, I just might try that.

Look for coin shows near you. There is always someone selling them there too!
