My uncle recently passed away and had these coins in there collection. I was looking on eBay and they seemed pretty valuable. I was just wondering if these were real. Thank you.
Weird looking year, weird mintmark, uneven strike, rim looks awful, overall graininess. I have absolutely no doubt that this is a very recent Chinese replica. Quarter seems like it has been in a fire. The rim also looks a bit weird, might not be real.
The quarter, too. That date doesn't look right at all, the mint mark is in the wrong position, and the rims look like a bottle cap. General rule of thumb: when it comes to very rare dates, any given loose coin is far more likely to be a fake than to be the real thing. But it's always good to check.
