Found a wide-am variety for the first time! They aren't too common on the left coast.

I always thought about that left coast thing... Seeing that die varieties produced a lot of coins in the early overall batch made for the year(most DDs are made while getting the hub pressure right early on right?). That would mean that most of those coins would be sent to the same area right?
If that is true than we over here in surferville looking for a Phillie variety are almost on a snipe hunt or sorts and if our mint had one it wouldn't matter because ours does not do circulation coins..

Nice find! I think finding nice WAM`s is becoming difficult now on the eat coast as well.

    Since January, I've found 5 ~ 2000s and 5 ~ 1998s. Ill sell them when I make a roll of each :D

I've been averaging 25% to 33% in copper coins per lot, so gauging from the 120+ lbs of copper cents I have, I've looked through approx. 65,000 to 80,000 coins since January, to find 10 WAMs.

That's a great find for the west coast!! I have found a 1998 and a 2000 so far.. Just started looking a few months ago. I want to find the 1999, that seems to be the hard one to find! 1998P Wide \'AM\' XF Obv.JPG 1998P Wide \'AM\' XF Rev.JPG 2000P Wide \'AM\' XF Obv.JPG 2000P Wide \'AM\' XF Rev.JPG

The reverse was used in error, but is the coin now an error coin or a variety?
