I've given my step son coins as a gift. A circulated Merc once and later an ancient. I was hoping to get him interested but I don't think it worked. At least he liked the coins I gave him.
My sister ( a tiny 9 year old) picks out whatever she likes in my foreign&no longer needed coin jar, takes them, and she gives me my 'You can go on cointalk and I will tell mom that you are studying' privileges but of course I study hard to get straight As
Off topic: Rickipedia, have you been to any of the coin shops in Seoul? I keep trying to get there but every weekend that I want to go I have to work!
My parents wont take me, doesn't like numismatics. My grandpa supports all of my things. maybe he can take me. He's a very active guy for quite an old age Well, gold and silver stores do sell some commemoratives and American eagles.
From another CT member's website: http://www.dokdo-research.com/coinshops.html Ugh...maybe two weekends from now I can get there. I want to get a mint set and give it as a gift to a guy who works at the LCS I frequented at my last base.
that sucks that they do not trust me to send you free coins. what could I possibly do to them from here ? oh well I tried. If they ever change their minds... the offer of free coins sent to you offer still stands. Tell them I have no agenda. I simply want to contribute to young numismatists thrill of collecting coins and you sharing them with others.
if you want to send a gold buff I can be a yn on a serious note things have gone so bad that niceness is no longer trusted anywhere on earth
you bet I can wait. I will still love collecting coins then I am sure. and I will continue to inspire coin collecting in you and other YN's.
They have PO Boxes there - I know because I buy paper money from a dealer there in Seoul that has a PO Box mailing address.
Good for you for asking them and respecting their response, even though it is not the one that you wanted. That is very responsible and respectful of you Rikipedia.
When my middle daughter was younger, she was really into Girl Scouts, so I purchased one of the proofs for her this year as a gift. She was impressed, which made me feel good too!
