Carus 282-283 AD obv: A-AKMA KA POCCEB Cloaked and cuirassed bust r. with an undraped head. Rev: Dikaiosyne standing left, holding scales in right hand, cornucopiae in left hand. Above to left (LA) (Curtis 1897-1902, page 160) Sorry about the bad photos. I'm wondering about the history of this piece and the ruler depicted. (WC, this was identified by our mutual friend , C ) Comments anyone?
Told you it wasn't Diocletian! Edit: the photograph is okay, but could be improved (it is similar to the coin in hand, but not right yet)
That's a pretty Alexandria Tet. LA = Year 1 = 282/283 AD. It's not a particularly rare coin, but it is well struck and has a nice patina.
I can read the legends on the coin, I can see stuff that needs to be seen. Photos are good enough. The coin is nice, I kinda like it.
