Who said i'm happy about it? If I get a good deal I am going to take it. Im not going to sit here and argue with anyone because you don't like to see people get good deals.

but its wasent a good deal you pretty much stole them

did you tell them how much silver was in each one or anything about what they had or did you keep that to your self so you could get a "good deal". a good deal would have been $15+ a piece not $5

I told him, but he wanted money so he offered around $50 and I felt bad so I said $100 because thats all I had. I showed him my red book and showed him the prices.

And there we have it, kids... justification. Oh how the truth comes out... so much for the "I have no idea..." nonsense.

A good deal, young sir, is one that is mutually beneficial, and not one in which you knowingly burn the other party, so don't try to play the victim here.

He is not that kind of kid, he asked his parents if he could sell them to me and they said yes.

I beg to differ, young sir. If I understand you correctly, you claim to have purchased two different lots: one with approx. 18.1toz for $100 and the other with approx. 11.6 for $60. While I would be a hypocrite if I decried wholesale buying, this is not wholesale; its plan thievery.

You claim to have had the other child's parental permission to sell to you, so may I ask if you - with redbook in-hand - made them aware of the present (spot) value for his metal? There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you, if this claim is even true, made no effort to inform them because you know full well that they would have looked out for their child's best interest, which surely was not being scammed by you. You easily could have offered to pay a fair-yet-low-wholesale amount and still made a fine profit, but greed got the best of you and it is as simple as that. Had it not, you would not be trying to justify your actions.

I’ve been around a long time and have had the displeasure of seeing all types of little kiddy games. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back now, but understand that sooner or later people will talk and you’ll be found out. You took these children for what is (to a youth) likely a significant amount of money, and they surely will not be pleased to learn that someone they probably trusted took advantage of them. Kids can be a cruel lot and I fear you may learn this the hard way.

I don't need to prove anything to you. We made a deal therefore it is NOT thievery, It was a deal that they felt was fare. This means that both sides were satisfied with the deal.

I don't want to pile on here...I don't think Christian Gonzales ever said he didn't know anything about coins, just that he bought the Morgans from someone who didn't know anything about coins and that he'd never seen that particular set before.

People here are committed to this hobby. When someone starts boasting about buying two Morgan dollars from someone who doesn't know what they have for a ludicrous sum of money it just...well...this is what happens.

See my earlier post. I think what you did to that poor kid was wrong. It was wrong of you to buy those Morgans for $5. Melt value, or melt value with a little plus would have been minimum fair. You knew what you were doing and took advantage of someone's ignorance. It's just unfair and unethical.

    Ahhh...too much soap boxing...

I am sure they are satisfied since they probably have no idea of how bad you ripped their children. For a "fare" (fair) deal to take place, both parties need the necessary knowledge to understand what is truly happening, so are you trying to claim that the parents knowingly allowed their children to throw money in the garbage? Just answer my question on if you made the parents aware of the actual value.

I told the kid their value, I don't know if he passed it on to the parents when he asked.
