Hi there coin talk, I'm a new member, I'm hoping this is the correct place to post this!

I have been collecting for a relatively short time (</= to a year) though I have not seen a half quite like this one.

S imprinted to the right of the D mark is pretty odd, I haven't seen any others quite like this.
If you guys could help me in identifying this, I'd be very appreciative.

(I could also get a picture rather than a scan, if need be)

    Help a newbie out? :D

welcome to the forum . I can't see this area good enough to tell what it is. is the thing that looks like a S incuse or is it raised like the D mintmark is ? a closeup of it may be helpful.

Looks as if someone counterstamped it outside the mint?

That's what I think too, counter stamped.

Kinda figured it would be something rudimentary, but thanks guys!

I'll still hold unto it because it is at least slightly cool,

I wonder why anyone would counterstamp it though, they're not really fooling anyone, especially since it already has the Denver mark.. And it's obvious anyways

Counter-stamp for sure. You can see how the letter 's' has been stamped into the field, with the excess metal pushed outward. Outstanding Pic dear fellow.......:)

Almost looks like a silversmith's touchmark or a jeweler's stamp you would see on an older coin Nicolas. It could be from a contemporary craft shop. Very interesting.
