I use my Red Book as my checklist. That's it.

Bargain away. I hope to stop by that show at 10:00am Sat morning since I'll be in the area, but can only spare a hour. I've never been to this show I think it is a fairly new show, I believe this is maybe thier 2 or 3 show but is now supposed to be a Bi-annual show. I've been going to the Vienna show for years that one runs quarterly (next show 1/27/2007) and I suspect most of the same dealers will be in Annandale. I'm hoping to cherrypick a RPM or 2 in the short time I have. Hope you have several hours to take it all in and enjoy. Good luck!

Well I don't know if I saw you there or not. I got there later than I thought and rushed in made a quick circle around. Bought a nice 53-S RPM#2 and a 1949 D/D Unlisted (Nickels of course) weren't to many raw jeffersons there only had about 40 min at the show. Hope you had a great first experience. This show was alot less crowded than the Vienna show, at least the aisles where wide enough for people to get around.

How could one tell if a coin was cleaned? Is "wizzed" another word for cleaned?

Wizzed is a type of cleaning---as for how can one tell if a coin is cleaned---that can take years of learning for some types of cleaning and others its easy.
I don't have photos here right now to show but I'm sure some of the guys do---cleaning can take 50% of a coins value down the pit---

It's somewhat misleading to say that wizzing is a type of cleaning. Normally a coin isn't wizzed to clean it, a coin is wizzed to make a potential buyer mistakenly think the coin has original mint luster when it doesn't.

Since there are so many ways to clean a coin, there is no short or simple answer to your question. But it has been discussed many, many times. Just a do a search for the words clean, cleaning or cleaned and you'll find lots of info.
