1936 Satin Proof Lincoln (PCGS PR64RB). Really hard to find nicely toned. This is about as smooth as they come.
Only the second piece of gold I've found since the drop without a premium and the first sovereign I've owned that wasn't minted in Australia.
Nothing special but thought it was neat to have such a nice 1967 given to me in change today. To bad I'm not good at taking photos.
Treylxapi, You've been buying a lot of very nice stuff lately but i have to admit that proof merc is probably my favorite.
Thanks! I've been on a little proof binge here lately and this one and the IHC popped up at the right time. I'm only in both coins for a total of $180 or so cash out of pocket. That 31-s came from trading some extra quarters from the set (I had 6 1955-P's) and few dimes and nickels I no longer wanted. So minimal cash out of hand there also. It's all about leveraging different things and actively looking for deals in your collecting area. Not to mention it just seems like a down market at the moment and things are consistently selling below 'book' values by a good margin. All of this works out to me building a nice collection and continuing to grow what I have.
I had another very successful offer/purchase at DLRC. I really like their operation. No fees, no shipping charges, FANTASTIC website, and very willing to come down on some cheaper CAC coins so that I can work on my Type Set / Box of 20. Very fast shipping, just ZERO issues. I highly recommend them, but then again, you all have probably been using them for years. These are bad scans, but I am eager to share:
