Found these in the last box of nickels......alas no silver.

Nice...any mintmarks on the backs?

 

No mint marks. But the one on the bottom right has a full horn.

 

Went through about $15 worth of bwr pennies and pulled my first plain 1909 and a pretty slick 1911. The rest was common date wheat pennies. Also found a silver nickel on the ground in the bank under the check writing stand.

 

Took two boxes of halves to a new dump bank. Ask the teller if I could exchange them. “Sure,” she says, “let me check.” She comes back a few moments later with “We’ve got $800 in halves for you.” “Oh,” I say, “I just wanted to exchange them for cash, but I’ll take your halves. Do you have any loose ones?” “I’ve got $12 worth in my drawer.” As she looks at them, I catch a glimpse of silver. “Do you collect them?” she asked. “I look for proofs and dates and foreign. I like foreign coins. And finding silver is a bonus.” “I’ll get you that $800 if you wouldn’t mind waiting over there” (as she pointed to the seating area). I left to go sit down and she waves me back to pick up 1 opened box and 3 bundles of CWR’s. “Would you like a cart?” “No thank you,” I say, as a take what she’s handing me. “You’re welcome. Have a nice day.” I noticed the box was opened and was thinking she just handed me back one of the boxes I had just handed her. “Oh, and could I also get the ones in your drawer?” I reminded her. You shouldn’t have seen her demeanor change. It was such a sad look as if I’d taken candy from a baby. Anyway, there was 1-40% and 3-90% in her loose change and all the $800 had been previously searched. So let’s say Box #38 and #39 (eh) were skunks. That leaves the silver skunk streak at 15 boxes.
Then went to my usual bank and asked for $1000 in halves. Got another 2 boxes marked “For Mike.” I had received my second best box ever from boxes marked “For Mike” back on page 1287 of this thread.

Box #41-#43 of Halves: Skunk, Skunk, Skunk. The 40% skunk streak continues at 19 boxes.

 

$175 face in dimes - only gone through ten rolls or $50 so far but the excitement of this:



A solid roll of silver roosies!!! First solid roll of silver ever and first 90% finds in about three weeks

 

And the rest of the dimes only produced one of the 50% Canadian 10c from 1968. But that roll has me jolly today.

 

I haven't posted on this form in a long long time I stop posting skunks and I get my boxes every week

Box of Quarters...Skunk on silver (no surprise) but found some ATB hole fillers including two 2013 ATB quarters.

I just do parks an the woods and I found some real noise coins did you see the barber quarter and barber half

 

Yeah. Saw them. Just image those beauts resting in the ground until you disturbed them and took them to a happier place.

not yet no gold but I just got my metal detectors a few months ago

 

its been awhile since I posted here but I will be rejoining the hunt and posting my finds its been about 2.5 yrs since I last searched coin rolls and that was mainly nickels, and on the occasion half dollars I might get started on those

 

Box #44 of Halves: 3-40%, 1-90%. I was surprised at how happy I was to see that 40%. That ends the 40% Skunk streak at 19 boxes.

I know that feeling I just had that the other day

 

Woo-Hoo! Found a good box today. At first, it was odd because the seal had been broken when I picked up the box but I still took it. After 11 rolls, there was nothing. However, on the 12th roll, I found this:



There were 5 silvers in that roll. I went on to find 2 in the 19th, 3 in the 33rd, 2 in the 36th and 1 in the 41st.

Overall: 2x90%, 11x40% (2.35 ozs).
