I've looked all over the net for anything about this and I'm stumped. I found this silver penny (stamped by the Freemasons apparently). Anybody know anything about it?
You mean the color is silver, or do you have a method to tell it's silver? What's its weight? anyways...the counterstamp greatly reduces the value of any coin, unless it's rarer with one.
It looks like a sort of a Broad struck coin to me. the red arrow area looks strange. was is because of the punch used to counterstamp it?
try making a scale like this http://www.cointalk.com/threads/sorting-1982-pennies.233138/#post-1750758
some counterstamps bring some primium. not sure if yours does. there are counter-stamp collectors in here that can tell you more. I do not believe your coin is silver. your coins year 1941 is made of bronze metal. your coin looks heavily cleaned. and when bronze is heavily cleaned it looks very strange and might give the appearance of silver but it is not. I hope you did not clean this coin to make it look shiney ?? cleaning a coin kills their value by 1/2 or 3/4 and sometimes even more. the only value I see now is the freemason counterstamp. and most will not touch it because it has been heavily cleaned.
I tried to get a better comparison picture. I don't think the light was showing the color well. It's the same circumference as a normal Canadian penny. I didn't clean it. This is how I got it. I know better than to clean em.
