well, i picked up several new byzantines recently...here are 3 of them. The first two i purchased from a forum member (thanks!), they look a bit rough, but they're pretty much going rate for the type. Plus i liked the father, son, grandson run they made together. left: heraclius (3 figures, heraclius, heraclius constantine, empress martina) follis, constantinople mint, sear 808. year is x, maybe something below, not sure, so minted between 620-641. 6.3g, 20x23mm. right: constans ii (641-668 ad) follis, sear 1005, 25 mm , 5.0g. here is a trachy i picked up and cleaned a bit, original reverse... and now... cleaned up fast and easily! some double strike stuff or something going on here, but still nice details really. (25mm, 3.2g) my guess was this was alexius iii, ski has agreed...looks like sear 2011-13 (i can't tell the difference between them at all), anyone disagree?
Nice-nice-really-nice!! Man, we should be callin' you "The Janitor", because of your amazing cleaning-skills!!?
