I recently acquire a couple coins (1925 Peace Dollar - AU55, 1963 Franklin Half Dollar - BU, 2013 Silver Eagle) that just came in sort of plastic fold over covers. I was wondering if I should move these coins into some mylar 2x2 coin holders instead. I was thinking they would protect the coins a little bit bit better but I was not sure if it mattered that much. I have a ton of the 2x2 coin holder already so it wouldn't be much of a bother.

Personally I would. Even though they are not completely air tight, they are better than flips.

Cool. I was kind of leaning towards that, but I wanted to make sure.

I would ( personally ) put the Peace in a 2*2, the Franklin in an airtight capsule, and the Ase in an airtight too. capsules do not cost that much+it gives great visual effects too.

I ended up putting them all in 2x2 for now. I was thinking about getting a capsule or slab for the ASE. I does look kind of silly in 2x2. I had to staple the hell out of it to completely seal it. I have a capsule for my 1982 Washington Half Dollar and i think it make the coin look twice as nice.

i carry an ase in a capsule as a pocket piece, it's quite nice to have one. :)

I use Air Tites for all my coins worth more than an Air Tite. I like the ones with the black ring and I think it makes the coins really stand out.

How much are the air tights? The only one I have came with the coin when I bought it.

On Air Tite's website they're 0.61 each unless you buy in bulk. Oh, that's for the ones with the ring in it.
