Been looking at this coin for awhile now as I want to add a nice SLQ to my collection. The slab doesn't say FH but I was wondering if this would be considered a FH or is it far from FH?

The coin has been graded by ICG, was wondering if I could get any SLQ collector opinions on this coin. The slab is labeled as AU58 for those wondering, didn't know if I sent it into NGC I'd get a higher or lower grade than it's current grade. I don't mind an ICG coin, just don't want to overpay if it's an over graded coin.
    Thanks everyone.

FH on Ty I Philly coins is very common, and IIRC, more MS examples have been designated as such than have not. It is with TyII that certain dates can bring substantial FH premiums.

As for this coin, I do not see it going higher at PCGS or even NGC. On the contrary and even though the photos are not the greatest, I do not like this as a 58. I understand your intent to upgrade at a later date, but considering this date/mint is common, relatively inexpensive, and nice examples can be found without great effort, I believe you would be wise not to cut corners. Pay up for something nice that you will enjoy and not have or want to upgrade in a few years.

Yes, it appears to have a full head.

Your pics suggest either a high-AU or low-MS example. I cannot narrow it further w/out better pics.

It looks more like a XF-45 to AU-53 coin to me, but it just may be the strike. Either way, I don't think it has any chance of upgrading. Still, it's a nice coin if the price is right.

I'm at AU something but not sure about FH.

It's been in my eBay watch list for about 4 months at a price of $220. I've seen better looking raw coins for around the same price but liked the golden tone this one had.

Sorry I can't do better on the pictures as the seller only has the 2 pictures in the listing.

P.S. As for the designation, I do believe IGC was correct in not awarding it, even with the (IMO) overgrade. While still nicely detailed, it seems a bit soft for the date, and even if it had been designated, I would personally reject it.

I also would not touch it at anywhere near $220.

I'd either get an AU-58 in a Pcgs or NGC slab or maybe raw or move up to Ms-63/4 level.

The white balance is way off. No way to know the actual color from those images.

That's how it shows in the listing. Another eBay member asked for pictures in natural light and they said no.

Since you seem to be an active buyer, I suggest that you purchase the CDN packet (weekly, monthly, & recent supplements). Priced at under $20 (IIRC), I do believe it would be a good investment if used wisely, but do understand that quoted values for all types are in no way definitive.

This is even more of a reason to walk away. You can do much, much better.

Yep, walk away. Seller doesn't want to give better photos, seller must not want to sell to someone who can tell what they're looking at.
