Yes. It has something to do with the die, as opposed to the coin being stamped twice, I think. (Someone once explained this to me.) I'm editing this because I think the opposite is true. I think it is a repunched date, meaning the coin was punched twice, as opposed to the date being repunched on the die.

It is a repunched date, meaning the date was hubbed twice into the working die... or at least I believe it was the working die, because if it were the master die that was double-hubbed more examples would exist. Rick Snow could probably tell you more about this RPD because if his knowledge in this series, specifically.
