since I'm new to the collecting game, I'm not real sure which site to trust for prices, so I thought I would get a few opinions on here. My father passed on and left his collection to my brother and myself, and 1 of the coins he has is an 1886 O Morgan silver dollar. some sites i have been on say its worth a small fortune while others say just a few hundred. The coin looks to be in near perfect condition but I can't get an accurate price range. either high or low. anyone know of a site that is trusted, or maybe a price range to believe?

Pictures of the coin would help us out, take them in good lighting and at a straight-on angle. Good luck.

What non cents said. It could be worth anywhere from $30 to $100,000 depending on condition. Whatever you do do not clean the coin in any way. It could diminish the value up to 90% depending on how harshly it's cleaned. If you want any of the experts on this site to evaluate your coin you must present a quality picture of both the obverse and reverse.

Your coin is well worn and worth around the $30 range, as a connection to your father I would consider it priceless though. I have a low grade 1884 o given to me by my grandmother when I was young , and wouldn't trade it for a bucket full of uncirculated coins.

Agreed. I was really hoping to see a nice MS coin.
