11 rolls = 220 coins X 2.95 = $649 They are currently worth $2.95 each but a lot of people will only buy them for way below that price because nobody likes 40% silver coins.
Yes, that is true, but also many buy above melt value. Sorry if my post was confusing. Yes I looked up melt value of about $3 each. I was wanting to know how much premium to charge. It looks like they sell for $3.50 to $4.00 each but it's hard to tell since prices change so much.
I don't think anyone will pay $3.50 to $4.00 for these things. Thats any where from $4-7 dollars over spot. People might pay that for 90% silver but theres not a chance anyone in their smart mind would pay $4-7 dollars over spot for 40% silver. If you can sell them for that price do it.
Only place I see these going for a premium is on Ebay when being sold by an individual and when you factor in the sellers fee's, etc I'm pretty sure the sellers aren't even truly getting spot either. You'd probably be able to sell them at spot fairly easily. However unless you opt to sell on Ebay I don't see anyone paying a premium for them imo as it's not too hard to find even 90% selling at spot right now.
May I ask why you think common 40% halves are premium worthy? Regardless, if you feel that they are and plan to offer on ebay, you already know where to price, but if selling elsewhere, what makes you think anyone will pay the same amount? Unless you're buried or wish to spend the time to squeeze every cent possible, you would probably be better off trying to find someone willing to pay spot and using the money for other things. I understand the desire to get “top dollar”, but sometimes it is more trouble than it’s worth.
If you wanted to sell these, you missed the boat by about a year... last July these were selling regularly on eBay for $7-$9 each. Now, $3.50 is about the max: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roll-of-20-40-Silver-1965-1969-Kennedy-Half-dollars-Various-conditions-circ-/171072495564?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item27d4b71fcc&nma=true&si=LUT%2FeGJiD%2Be1OBAhlJBWvdJ2weE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
