Thanks for the information! I am currently looking for the letter from Walter Breen who my dad says it states in the letter about Robinson Copy, my father did not want to believe it was a copy & that's probably why he never had it graded.. So if it is a Robinson Copy then I hope we can finally be able to sell it! Thanks again, Tina Marie p.s. I should be done by the weekend with sorting thru all of my dads stuff! I hope I can find it... I will post it if I find it!!
Finding the letter would be very cool. If you decide to sell the coin you could sell the letter along with it and make even more money. Happy hunting and please post it when you find it. Cheers.
Finally I think I understand more about my Dad & his pride possession, his Rosa Americana... While I was searching thru my fathers most personal items this is what I found. A letter from Walter Breen, plus a letter from my father regarding the coin expressing his feelings very clearly!I now understand why my Dad stopped doing coin shows.. I am so glad I finally asked him about the coin, at least now I know.. I took a pic of the letters & wanted to share it with you all! Tina
Thanks for posting the letters. I feel very bad for the 15 year old boy. That is an incredible story. The metal used to make your Robinson Amercana will determine scarcity thus influencing price. Robinson made them in silver, copper and brass. ***By any chance will a magnet pick up the coin? I was unable to find any sales on Heritage but found several on Stacks-Bowers.
