picked up some new chinese coins, not much to see on back.. here's the obverse side.. here is my best attempt at attribution left to right.. left:northern song, emperor hui zong, 1101-1125ad, "10 cash", chong ning zhong bao ("sublime, peaceful, heavy, currency...read top, bottom, left, right), 33mm, 9.3g. middle: northern song, emporer shen zong, 1068-1085ad, yuan feng tong bao (seal script?), 1 cash coin. 29mm, 5.9g rigth: tang dynasty, minted after 620ad...not sure exactly when...maybe as late as 907 (end of tang?), seems this type of coin was minted under different rulers? kai yuan tong bao, 25 mm, 3.4g. if anyone can tell me anything else or correct my attribution, I would appreciate it!
Not quite new but I've never posted them yet..... Gotta pay for and anxiously await the arrival of my newest purchases of over 10 lbs. non-us coins. That should take a while to sift through.
1971 Turkey 1 Kurus; not exactly a new acquisition (let's say 'recently re-discovered'). Not uncommon/valuable, but I think it's likely the smallest coin in my collection & thought some folks might find interesting. I've posted it with a US dime for comparison. Bronze, 1 gram, 14mm
What you call "medal" alignment is indeed the standard for coins in pretty much every country. When that 1 kreuzer coin was issued, things were a little different, but yes, Austria did it even back then. Christian
